Chilli and Lemon x Golden ale
This one you have to try. Golden ale is sublime when paired with zesty, fruity flavours. The citrus notes from the lemon alongside the gentle heat of the chilli make for a match made in heaven.
Lightly salted x Milk stout
Salty and sweet just work so well together! We first found out when we made fava bean cookies, and it turns out it works well with drink pairings too. For a real power pairing try with a sweet and salted style beer like Brew York’s ‘Salted Caramel Tonkoko’ or Amundsen’s ‘Salted Toffee Popcorn Dessert in a Can’.

Sea salt and cider vinegar X WHITE WINE
Now bear with us here! Turns out if you pair acidic food with an acidic wine it rounds off the ‘zing’ in both. Try a glass of bright, acidic Riesling with these fava beans and you’ll find the cider vinegar in our snacks becomes more apple-y than ever!
BBQ x smoky red wine
Our BBQ roasted fava beans are sweet, smokey and have a touch of tang, so a red wine with similar characteristics works a treat. We’d probably go a Syrah/Shiraz, as it’ll give that pepperiness that works so well with sweet, spiced BBQ.
